Seamless Lives of Faith | Galatians 6:9

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

The journey continues as week 6 comes to its conclusion. As we fellows continue to pour our time and efforts into various spheres of responsibility, I am reminded firsthand how easy it is to grow weary. As the seasons turn colder and the sun sets earlier, it can often feel like we are chasing after the fading days. However, I am simultaneously refreshed by scripture declaring that our labors are not in vain, such as Galatians 6:9. Despite our bodily limitations, we are by no means unequipped to do good wherever we are planted by the Lord.

The middle school retreat was this past weekend, and it produced some very tired fellows! However, we were all incredibly encouraged to hear the ways in which God is working in the lives of our church’s younger members. Despite the weariness, it was clear that both youth and fellows experienced deep spiritual growth and made some lasting memories together.

Monday’s seminar offered us a powerful introduction to the world of bioethics, ranging from IVF to abortion and other such philosophical questions. Elaine Petty led an engaging discussion on how Christians should approach life-related issues that are often ignored by mainstream culture and churches alike. After our work week, though we usually attend seminary on Fridays, we had the day to write and submit essays on various cultural issues through a Christian perspective. This intellectual task was intriguing, stimulating, and challenging - as are many aspects of our year!

As the weeks continue, let us not grow weary in doing good!
